Accessibility Statement
We build for performance and accessibility, and we hold our own site to that standard.
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Hitchpost LLC is committed to making this website usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of the work we do for clients, so we treat our own site the same way.
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We consider the site substantially conformant, meaning most content meets the standard while we continue to test and improve. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time checkbox.
What we’ve done
Measures built into the site include:
- Semantic, standards-based HTML with proper landmarks (header, main, navigation, footer) and a “Skip to content” link for keyboard users.
- Full keyboard operability with a visible focus indicator on links, buttons, and form fields.
- Highly legible typography: body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed to improve readability for low-vision readers.
- Readable color contrast between text and backgrounds across the site’s palette.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences: animations are disabled for visitors who set “reduce motion” in their system.
- Accessible forms: every field has a label, required fields are marked, and the contact form reports its status through a live region and moves focus to the confirmation message after sending.
- Meaningful alternative text for informative images, with decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Responsive, zoom-friendly layout using relative units, so text can be enlarged without breaking the page.
Known limitations
We’re transparent about areas we’re still improving:
- The contact form’s spam-protection widget (Cloudflare Turnstile) is a third-party component. It is operable by keyboard, but we don’t control its internal markup. If it ever blocks you from reaching us, you can email us directly (below).
- We add and revise content over time, and a new page may occasionally fall short of our standard before we catch and fix it.
Feedback
